Overview of the Year
In the spirit of a long tradition of
inimitable determination, the Irish Missionaries
have once again set a new example with setting
up of the Irish Missionary Resource Service.
With its unique status as the only development
organisation that can boost a membership of 80
distinct missionary organisations, each with
their own unique ethos and modus operandi, the
missionaries, with the support of Irish Aid have
once again demonstrated as admirable capacity
for originality in their approach to their work.
In an era when committed personnel from the
"mission countries" are slowly replacing the
Irish missionaries in the continuation of the
struggle against poverty and injustice. the
emergence of the IMRS offers the opportunity for
attainment of enhanced coherence and
effectiveness in the overall approach to
missionary efforts in tackling the continuing
challenges presented by the 21st century world.
